Happy 4th of July World!

To my American people, hope you have had a restful, or at least, productive day with people who have been kind. To those who celebrate another holiday, I hope your Saturday… Sunday?… has been one to remember.

All I can say is that I am holding onto form and posting at the most long distance and random dates from my last posting possible, that at least shows some conformity in my doings. I have made it through another teaching year – a second as a retired, but cant give it up – special ed human. I had a good year though confusion truly took control part way through and we had to muddle our way to the end. Somehow we did and now, well, Monday afternoon will be my first official no-school-responsibility day. Took a while to wrangle up all the necessary photos for yearbook and now I get to have my time, my way… for 5 weeks. I’ll take it.

Now comes the fun part. That is meant both in truth, and with a touch of sarcasm. I do get to have me-time my way… but I am in the process of moving and the idea of moving a quarter of all the … stuff… I have collected just is not my idea of fun. I ordered a fair bit of new furniture to solve my most definitive needs, but there are little things like my regular writing desk and a few bookshelves I definitely want to move. Though… I could just not. I could sort out my junk and dump a bunch then let some of our new graduates pick through furniture. I am not moving a bed that has a flexible frame because the cats keep unplugging it when they go underneath. Nor do I need half of the shelves now because quite a few came with or were bought in tandem with the ‘new’ house.

Too bad Merlin (Disney’s Sword in the Stone version) wasn’t around to “Hockety Pockety…” my mess into a storage unit or trash bin so others could pick through the good stuff I’m leaving, sooner than later. I also have a bit of a disaster after breaking my ankle 3 years ago, then working the first two summers I was retired. Too many extra books and art supplies came were ordered in that time frame… shame on me… My only idea is that I need cabinet storage to put the shelves to better use. I just haven’t found the most cost effective way to do it.

So, now that you have heard my crazy do-ins, know that I have not given up on the idea of finding a more positive and productive way to also keep our Constitution whole. If you have ideas, or need information found, let me know. I will take up the research mantle and see what I can do.

In the meantime, I will keep an ear out, and do my best to do what’s needed. Right now I found a fabulous WW2 documentary that is new and already there are 2 questions I need to check compared to my own research. See? Forever student in your midst.

Hang in there everybody and please come home safe from whatever venture you are on. Work. Vacation. Walk around the block. Talk to you again soon…ish. Though I do have a better light and warmer, and safer environment now so that may actually work out!

Good morning, goodnight wherever you are.

Kath
